Brussels, April 3rd – The Cyber Security Coalition is pleased to announce its new partnership with KPMG Advisory to launch a nationwide cyber study, aiming to assess the cybersecurity readiness and challenges faced by businesses and organisations across Belgium.
Why this study matters
By gathering data from a wide variety of businesses, public institutions, and academic organisations, this Cyber Study will allow policymakers and cybersecurity professionals to identify trends, emerging threats, and systemic vulnerabilities that affect Belgian society as a whole. Without such data, it would be difficult to understand where the most significant risks lie and how they are evolving. The data collected serves as a call to action for organisations to step up their efforts and prioritise cybersecurity in their strategic planning.
Key objectives of the study
✅ Examine cyber threats in Belgium – Investigate how businesses and government entities in Belgium face cyberattack targets, along with the strategies employed by the attackers.
✅ Evaluate cybersecurity readiness – Analyse how companies and organisations in Belgium protect themselves against these threats, emphasizing issues like ransomware, phishing, and disinformation efforts.
✅ Encourage collaborative defence – Underscore the importance of a unified approach to cybersecurity that includes public-private collaborations and regulatory initiatives such as NIS2 and DORA.
How to participate
The survey will run from April to the end of May 2025 and targets all sectors and organisations within Belgium. It is open to businesses of all sizes, including self-employed businesses.
The Cyber Study includes a defined set of questions dynamically selected based on the type of organisation or the role of the person completing the survey (e.g., a Board member will receive fewer questions compared to a CISO). Completing the survey takes approximately 10 to15 minutes. The survey exists in Dutch, French and English.
