Jan-Marc Munuku

After steadily advancing his career in cyber security, Jan-Marc Munuku has spent the past three years as a Security Engineer at Easi: a Belgian provider of IT solutions and services for medium to large companies. A key player in the country’s cyber security ecosystem, Easi is part of a broader cultural shift: one increasingly defined by openness and knowledge sharing. And according to Jan-Marc, the Cyber Security Coalition is at the heart of that transformation.
“I see the Coalition as the driving force behind a new shared culture within the ecosystem”

“I’ve always been fascinated by security, mainly because it evolves so rapidly,” he explains. “Since it was clear to me early on that this was the field I wanted to pursue, I made sure to gain hands-on experience at every level. I firmly believe that’s the only way to truly understand what happens on the ground when a cyber incident occurs. That foundation made it a natural fit for me to step into the role of Security Engineer at Easi, where my main focus is incident response.”

Peer-to-peer support that makes a difference

Joining Easi has given Jan-Marc Munuku a unique perspective on Belgium’s cyber security landscape. “Throughout my career, I’ve seen different sides of the industry, and I have a deep appreciation for the advantages a larger player like Easi brings to the table. Our strength lies in our maturity, the breadth of our expertise, our commitment to human values, and our proactive approach. With access to such a vast knowledge pool and a strong team, incident response becomes significantly more effective, simply because there are more solutions available. In Belgium’s cyber security landscape, which features a relatively high number of specialised players, that’s an invaluable asset.”

Jan-Marc’s arrival at Easi naturally led to his involvement in the Cyber Security Coalition. “I had been considering the Coalition for a while, and since Easi was already a member, the process sped up,” he explains. “After a while, I joined the Incident Response Focus Group. In my view, it stands out for its exceptional level of openness and strong peer-to-peer support.”

“Fires don’t spread when everyone brings water”

That kind of climate isn’t a given, our expert knows: “Belgium’s cyber security ecosystem still hasn’t fully embraced openness on the same scale as some other countries. Sharing knowledge and expertise isn’t as deeply rooted in our culture. Which is exactly why the Coalition plays a crucial role, acting as a catalyst for a new shared culture where openness and knowledge exchange are core values. The players involved are already seeing the benefits. Ultimately, security can only evolve further in that kind of environment.”

For Jan-Marc, Coalition membership also presents strategic advantages for Easi. “The Cyber Security Coalition connects us with new players, helping us grow our network and expand our client base. It also supports us to challenge outdated perceptions that Easi is purely a software company — a label that stems from our strong track record in that domain. By committing to the Coalition, we not only strengthen our own position, we also help reinforce the organisation itself and, in turn, the broader Belgian cyber security ecosystem.”
