A Unique Setting, A Timely Theme
Set in an iconic coffee heritage site, the event explores how organisations can “brew” resilience and innovation to meet today’s rapidly evolving cyber threats. The day blends expert insights, practical workshops, and interactive sessions—mirroring the rich diversity of Belgium’s cybersecurity ecosystem.
Programme Highlights
The BE-CYBER Experience Sharing Day opens with a keynote from Caroline De Gruyter, who will frame “Brewing Security in the Age of Disruption” against the backdrop of global geopolitical shifts. This is followed by the unveiling of the Cyber Study 2025, conducted by KPMG Belgium in collaboration with the Cyber Security Coalition and Agoria, offering fresh insights into how Belgian organisations are preparing for today’s cyber threats.
Five Tracks, One Mission: Securing Our Digital Future
Participants can choose from five dynamic tracks, each tackling a critical aspect of cybersecurity:
- Dark Roast Defences: Major General Pierre Ciparisse addresses the latest in cyber defence, followed by an expert panel led by Peter Booms on the impact of disinformation. Miguel De Bruycker will unpack the EU Cyber Solidarity Act and Belgium’s role in strengthening Europe’s resilience.
- Cloud Macchiato: This track explores whether security can truly be delivered on demand, the prospects for European cloud sovereignty, and how to manage the risks of an expanding attack surface in an era of outsourcing.
- Espresso Innovation: From BNP Paribas Fortis and Digitaal Vlaanderen turning concepts into reality, to AI-powered use cases from EURid and CETIC, this track demonstrates how innovation and security must go hand in hand.
- Barista: People are at the heart of cybersecurity. Prof. Dr. Angela Sasse discusses how to harness talent, a panel explores retaining and motivating professionals of all ages, and the track concludes with insights into the psychology of social engineering—reminding us that humans are both cybersecurity’s greatest asset and its biggest vulnerability.
- Quantum Brew: Based on a white paper by the Cyber Security Coalition and the Quantum Circle, this track highlights the urgency of preparing for the post-quantum era and equips industry leaders with the essentials for compliance.
Workshops and Lightning Talks
In parallel, Café Connect delivers hands-on cybersecurity strategies for SMEs, while Café Secure addresses the latest challenges in OT and ICS security for industrial environments. After these workshops, participants are invited to take the stage during the “Espresso Your Ideas” lightning talks to pitch their own innovative concepts and perspectives on cybersecurity.
A Day of Networking, Learning, and Inspiration
Attendees will enjoy a full day of knowledge sharing, practical workshops, and networking opportunities, all in a setting that celebrates Belgium’s coffee culture and spirit of collaboration. The event concludes with a wrap-up by Jan De Blauwe, Chair of the Cyber Security Coalition, and entertainment by professional mentalist Stefan Paridaen, followed by a walking dinner and live jazz.
